Dean

Dean Transportation gathered for a holiday lunch at Art in the Loft in downtown Alpena.  Kellie Dean, President and CEO, addressed the team as a part of the celebrations.  In his comments, Dean had high praise for the Alpena team and its support of the AMA ESD.  He spoke at length of the important work the Dean drivers and staff do each and every day for the students of the AMA ESD region.

AMA ESD Superintendent Justin Gluesing was also in attendance.  "We are proud of the partnership with have with Dean Transportation," Gluesing said. "Many students start and end the day on a school bus.  The Dean drivers and bus attendants play a critical role in getting our students to school safely, as well as starting and ending the day on a good note."

In 1986, Kellie  Dean left a position in the Lansing School District after 14 years to join the company. While working for the district, Dean was a teachers’ aide, special education teacher and special education administrator in charge of the programs for the physically or otherwise health- and hearing-impaired.  Dean is a graduate of the Michigan State University College of Education and holds an undergraduate degree in special education and a master’s degree in school administration.
