Teachers in Atlanta are flexing their book muscles by engaging kids in talking about books.
(L) Second grade teacher, Mrs. Jones, carries different books around as she moves about the building. Carrying a book can help to strike up interest and conversation from students.
(R) Third grade teacher, Mrs. Krzyszton, helps students to have a space to share the books they are currently reading. What a great way for students to learn about books they may not have seen before.

The yearly campaign matches hundreds of children’s gift requests with generous donors who agree to fulfill the Christmas Wish List received. Donors who want to be matched with a child or a family in need can contact Catherine Abraham, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 586-703-4019. Monetary donations are also needed to purchase unfulfilled gifts or food and can be mailed in or dropped off at the United Way office in Alpena.
