Jean Kowalski and Lauren VanAlmen of the MiFamily Engagement Center had the opportunity to present to the Literacy Coaches at COP ESD on Core Beliefs and Effective Family Engagement.

Kim Peters, Ed.D., Literacy Coach, COPESD: “Your session was a highlight for the majority of our participants. To me, the feedback being so consistent speaks to a need. Communication and partnerships with families are often left out of professional learning, even with our Essential Literacy Practices highlighting the need. I’m excited to have both of you as resources to support.”

“I think you were able to lift some really important core beliefs and open a discussion around the importance of family and school partnerships. I see this as a real need for the districts that we serve, and perceptions really seem to differ across districts.”

The MiFamily Engagement Center team is available to present on Family Engagement topics anywhere in Region 3, which includes AMA ESD, COP ESD, COOR ISD, and Iosco RESA.
